As wildflowers begin to carpet the Perth Hills, Midland Junction Arts Centre, are opening their doors for What On Earth. This collaborative project celebrates the botanical world and features local artists that explore the unique and diverse flora that Western Australia has to offer, with a series of exhibitions, workshops, and events.
The What On Earth project kicks off the open day on Sunday 25th of August from 11am to 3pm. The centre will feature live music and be buzzing with excitement with all ages’ workshops and demonstrations. Watch as local artists and chefs transform materials taken from the Earth to explore the natural, fragile and wondrous world of Western Australian flora.
Experiment in one of our botanically inspired workshops, including native flower painting, papermaking using natural plant fibres, screen printing on tea towels, create bee hotels from recycled materials, floral still life drawing, learn about the process of a letterpress, and create kitchen ceramics in a one-off workshop, along with many more, so come along on the day and have a go.
