Perhaps it’s time for scientists and philosophers to get together and have a good, long chat. Science is about understanding how the world works, but what is ‘understanding’? How do we ‘know’? And how do we know we know? Such questions strike us as trivial, even annoying. Surely, we just do!?
There is abundant evidence that we surely don’t, and less today than ever before. It’s not just we ordinary folk; even the experts don’t know. Einstein famously asked, “What is ‘reality’?” Tibor Molnar explores how we might go about answering this question. If you’re interested in the nature of ‘reality’ (and who isn’t?), then you’ll want to hear this—even if you are a scientist or a philosopher.
The event will be at the Mitchell Theatre.
